  Our Working Foundation  ˜

After searching for a working bloodline Red Border Collie female for roughly two years, Basin Border Collies purchased it's foundation breeding stock from Abingdon Ranch in Cheshire, Oregon.  Abingdon Ranch is a working cattle ranch, their Border Collies are an essential part of it's operation. Abingdon Ranch specializes in working ranch Red Border Collies. Here you will find ASCA Trial Champions & USBCHA National Finals Trial Champion competitors utilized in the day to day running of a working cattle ranch.

Brian Abingdon is a very successful Clinician, Handler and Stock Dog Trainer, both in training working ranch stock dogs and those that also are highly successful on the ASCA, USBCHA and other Trial Championship venues.  He was the owner of 1990 Reserve North American Champion Rojo. In 2000 Brian placed 5th in the Lone Star Futurity. Between 2002 and 2004 he placed at the USBCHA Finals in Open, Novice and Nursery classes. He and his dogs have won 14 Open Trial buckles and he trained 7 ASCA Working Trial Champions.

Basin Border Collies benefits greatly from Brian's help.  He has instructed five in an ongoing series of Stock Dog Clinics here in the Klamath Basin.  For more information see our clinic page.  Brian's continued guidance while working our dogs at his facilities in Cheshire is greatly appreciated.  Abingdon Ranch's training facilites include an indoor training arena (72' X 204'), an outdoor training arena (200' X 300'), training pens for younger and newly started dogs and handlers, and larger pastures for advanced training techniques.  Basin Border Collies is extremely pleased with the background, bloodlines and performance that these Abingdon Ranch Border Collies have brought into our breeding program.  For further information on Abingdon Ranch's Border Collies go to  www.AbingdonBorderCollies.com.
