Would you like to get your dog started in the art of herding livestock? Livestock herding has a long and colorful history. Herding dogs have been used to help mankind for centuries. Dogs have been used to work hand in hand with men and women on ranches and farms. It’s said that a good stockdog can do the work of 3 men.
Stock Dog at Work
Basin Border Collies has offered the use of their training pens and stock for beginners. They are located on Henley Road in Klamath Falls. The set up is perfect for training of dogs and their owners. We sponsor working playdays at various ranches in the area to practice in other venues and with different stock. Purpose of the club is to teach and help with training opportunities for herding dogs. Our dogs range from beginners and can advance to intermediate and advanced herding. At least two Brian Abingdon clinics a year are planned with playdays throughout the year. Call Deb Taylor 541-891-9902 or Kathy Dynge 541-331-9615 for more information.
